Philippine Communist Party (PKP-1930) condemns killings of non-combatant activists by police forces

In a statement about the killing of nine people by security forces, during raids against suspected rebels in four provinces, the Philippine Communist Party (PKP-1930) stresses out:

News reports about the killing last Sunday (March 7) of 9 unarmed local leaders of mass organizations in 4 provinces south of Metropolitan Manila, have again placed the Philippines among the top concerns of the Office of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights. That the victims represented organizations identified by government as supporters of the maoist insurgency, does not detract from the fact that they were not combatants themselves, and that the search warrants issued by distant Manila courts and served through dawn raids by police-military composite teams have not resulted in the seizure of reported guns and grenades in the places where the victims were killed.

Philippines: The truth about Rodrigo Duterte's bourgeois government

By Ronalyn V. Olea / Source: Bulatlat.com
MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte’s tirades against the so-called oligarchs are turning out to be mere rhetoric as he pursues the same economic policies that favor the rich.
In a forum, Jan. 13, Rosario Bella Guzman, Ibon executive editor, noted that Duterte’s ten-point socioeconomic agenda and the upcoming Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 both aim to increase the profits of foreign corporations and local oligarchs at the expense of the welfare of the people and long-term economic development.
Guzman said the PDP is silent on free land redistribution. She noted that the economic managers of the Duterte administration blocked Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano’s proposal for a two-year moratorium on land-use conversion.

Philippine Communist Party (PKP-1939) - Assessment of the first 100 days of the Duterte administration

We publish an interesting assessment by the Philippine Communist Party (PKP-1939) regarding the bourgeois government of Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines.

Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte's presidential electoral campaign focused on the need to weed out the illegal drugs trade, calling it the prime menace to the people and the root of heinous crimes and even of corruption. He promised a bloody campaign which will fill Manila Bay with the cadavers of drug pushers and criminals, and called on the people to apprehend known drug pushers everywhere, and even to use lethal force against the armed resistance of drug pushers.
